Types of witches + BOOKS II.

It has been a while since my last post on this topic. I've been so busy lately with preparations for college, tattooing and for a big part enjoying in these warm days so I didn't manage to find the time to write.
If you haven't read the first post on this topic, you can read it here.

  • HEREDITARY WITCH - The term hereditary witch, is given to the witch who has inherited the magick gifts through family. These witches usually come from a long chain of witches that goes even centuries into the past. They are born with magick gifts that they discover early in life and start learning about magick even from childhood. Of course, these gifts and general interest in magick may skip a generation or be found just on the specific part of the family. For example, only males or females get the "witchy blood"  Each family has it’s own unique traditions that are passed through books of shadows and many other magickal writings. Usually they stick together as a family rather than be in a coven.

  • WATER WITCH (SEA WITCH) - Water witches are believed to be able to control many aspects of nature relating to water, most commonly an ocean or sea. Usually the worship sea deities. This kind of magick can be practiced anywhere near water. Lake, river, bowl of water, it all can do.  In some folklore, sea witches are described as phantoms or ghosts who have the power to control the fates of ships their passengers. Tools used in this magick can vary. It can be seashells, seaweed, fishing net, sand etc. Gray magick is associated with water witchcraft.

  •   ELEMENTAL WITCH-  Well there is nothing much to say about it because the title speaks for itself. Elemental witch is a witch that works with 5 elements, Of course,we all do from time to time. However this witch is keen on all of them. In magickal workings they often use tools that represents each of the elements. This witch may possess powers associated with each of them.

  • GRAY WITCH-
"A gray witch, or neutral witch, is a practitioner of magik that does not harm nor benefit others"
Their magick is balanced. They don't go to extremes with either black or white magick. The divine is neutral, grey. It is both positive and negative. The god and goddess generally represent any of the dualistic polarities, this too would include the polarities of positive and negative. Now, as we all know, magick is neither good or bad but the way you use it is.

  • SOLITARY WITCH- A solitary witch is a witch that decides to practice without a coven but rather alone. There are no strict rules or description for this type. Solitary witch can practice any kind of magick, mix different cultures and traditions forming an unique practice.

Of course there are many other types of witches and you can always make your practice unique and be completely different from all of the types. There is always room for new.
Have you found yourself in these or do you call yourself differently? What is your type?

Have fun with the books my witchy friends!
